Step inside the Ciderhouse Tavern, Ohio’s first cider bar, and you’ll find more than cider on tap, you’ll find a community hub
West End Ciderhouse's Tavern, nestled in the
heart of Athens, Ohio, opened
in May 2014.
It's a place where friends, neighbors, and travelers gather over carefully crafted drinks, seasonal cocktails, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
The historic building that housed tenants and businesses since 1872 stood vacant for nearly a decade after the closing of West End Tavern in 2004. We restored it with care, using locally collected elements outside while preserving the tavern’s character inside.
West End Ciderhouse was established in 2013 when we began restoration of the building and harvested apples at our small orchard in Meigs County for our first batch of hard cider sold at the Tavern in 2014.
